Car Parking at Hobart Airport

The airport offers a public car park for short and long-term parking, outdoor valet parking and indoor valet parking. For locals using the airport, the best transport option is to park your car with one of the airport’s car park options including short-term parking and long-term parking.

Hobart Airport's car parking options provide a convenient and safe way to park your car for collecting or dropping-off passengers or for the duration of your time away, all within very close proximity to the terminal.

Hobart Airport's public car park is conveniently located outside the terminal and is only a short walk to check-in or arrivals area.

The Valet Car Park has an office located at the northern end of the car rental bulding directly outside the terminal, to use this service simply park outside the office in one of the deisgnated spaces and the attendants will do the rest for you.

Where are the car park pay stations located?

There are four car park pay stations conveniently located at the front of the terminal adjacent to the cark park.

Can I pay for my car parking by credit card?

You can use credit card as a form of payment at either the pay stations or directly at one of the four exit gates. If you choose to pay be credit card at the exit gates, you are not required to use the pay station.

How long do I have to exit the car park after I have paid at the pay station?

From the time that you pay for your car parking at the pay station you have ten minutes to exit the car park. You must retain your validated ticket and insert at one of the four exit gates.

Who can I speak to for assistance in operating the new car park equipment?

All pay stations and exit gates have an intercom facility, if you use the intercom you will be put through to a customer service officer who can guide you through the process of payment and exiting the car park. Staff at the valet office can also assist you with any enquiries.

What happens if I forget to pay and get to the exit gates?

If you get to the exit gate and you have forgotten to pay at the pay station you can use a credit card to exit immediately. If you do not have a credit card, you will need to use the intercom facility and speak with a customer service officer to arrange payment and exit.

What form of payment do the pay stations accept?

The pay stations accept cash (coins and notes) and credit card. EFT payment cannot be accepted.

Can I get a receipt for my car park payment?

Yes, at both the pay stations if using cash or credit card and the exit gate if you use your credit card.

Can I still drop off and collect my passengers for free at the airport?

Yes, you can come into the car park and receive the first ten minutes free.

Car Park Payment Process

Users that enter the car park will be issued with a car parking ticket. This ticket must be retained in order to pay and exit the car park. Users have ten minutes to exit the car park following payment at a pay station.

Exiting the Car Park

Users have two options to exit the car park

Pre Pay at the Pay Station: You can pay by cash or credit card at one of the four pay stations located at the front of the terminal adjacent to the car park. Upon paying for your parking, your ticket will be validated allowing you to exit through one of the four exit gates within ten minutes of paying. Users can request a tax invoice at this payment point.

Pay by Credit Card at the Exit Gate: You can only pay by credit card at the exit gates. When you get to one of the four exit gates, insert your ticket. The amount to be paid will then be displayed. Insert your credit card to complete the transaction. There is an option on the machine to request a receipt at the time of paying. Users can request a tax invoice at this payment point.
